This Legal Disclaimer applies to the AIVOW – AI Disclosure Manager website, AIVOW Lite, the planned AIVOW Pro add-on, documentation, readiness workflows, generated drafts, examples, notices, labels, metadata, and related materials.

1. Technical and informational purpose

AIVOW – AI Disclosure Manager is a technical transparency workflow tool for WordPress.

It helps website administrators document AI systems, configure public disclosures, label content, prepare a transparency page, and review informational readiness prompts.

The website and software do not provide legal, regulatory, compliance, tax, security, or other professional advice.

Use of the website, plugin, documentation, support channels, checklists, templates, or generated content does not:

  • create a lawyer-client or other professional advisory relationship;
  • constitute legal advice;
  • determine whether a law applies to you;
  • replace advice from a qualified lawyer, regulator, compliance professional, security professional, or other appropriate adviser.

You should obtain professional advice where necessary for your activities, jurisdiction, AI systems, audience, and risk profile.

3. No compliance certification or guarantee

AIVOW does not:

  • certify compliance with the EU AI Act or any other law;
  • guarantee that a website, organisation, AI system, notice, label, or disclosure is legally compliant;
  • perform a legal compliance audit;
  • determine whether a disclosure is sufficient;
  • automatically identify all applicable obligations;
  • represent approval by a regulator or certification body.

Using every available plugin feature does not by itself establish legal compliance.

4. EU AI Act and Article 50 references

References to Regulation (EU) 2024/1689, the EU AI Act, Article 50, transparency obligations, AI literacy, or related regulatory concepts are provided for general technical and informational purposes.

The plugin does not determine:

  • whether the EU AI Act applies to you;
  • whether you are acting as a provider, deployer, importer, distributor, or another regulated party;
  • whether a particular AI system or use case falls within a specific legal category;
  • which disclosure, marking, documentation, literacy, or other obligations apply;
  • whether another national, European Union, or international law applies.

The Article 50 readiness workflow is a manual informational review tool. Its questions, statuses, summaries, and matrix results are not a legal opinion, compliance score, audit result, or certification.

The AI Literacy checklist is an operational documentation aid. Completing it does not certify staff competence, training quality, or compliance with any legal requirement.

Official legislation, regulator guidance, court decisions, and advice applicable to your specific circumstances take precedence over website or plugin materials.

5. Manual-first workflow

AIVOW Lite does not automatically detect AI-generated content, scan a website for AI use, inspect third-party AI systems, or verify information entered by an administrator.

The site administrator is responsible for:

  • identifying relevant AI systems and uses;
  • entering complete and accurate information;
  • selecting appropriate labels and notices;
  • reviewing disclosure wording;
  • keeping records current;
  • deciding when professional review is required.

Incorrect, incomplete, or outdated configuration may result in inaccurate public information.

6. Generated transparency pages and example wording

The plugin may create a draft WordPress transparency page from saved AI system records and readiness information.

Generated pages, templates, example notices, labels, disclosure text, and documentation are starting points only. They must be reviewed and adapted to the website’s actual systems, practices, audience, jurisdiction, and legal obligations before publication.

Generation of a draft does not mean that the resulting page is complete, accurate, or legally sufficient.

7. Metadata and machine-readable marking

AIVOW Lite may provide optional lightweight AI-related meta tags for labelled content and supported public archives.

This metadata does not provide:

  • watermarking;
  • C2PA credentials;
  • durable content provenance;
  • provider-side machine-readable marking;
  • verification that content was created or modified using AI;
  • automatic compliance with Article 50 or another marking requirement;
  • legal certification.

Website administrators remain responsible for determining whether additional technical or legal measures are required.

8. Interaction Gate limitations

The Interaction Gate is a disclosure and acknowledgement interface.

It is not:

  • authentication or authorisation;
  • a paywall;
  • a consent-management platform;
  • access control;
  • secure protection for confidential or sensitive content.

Gated content may already be present in the page HTML and may be accessible through source code, browser tools, feeds, APIs, caching layers, or other technical methods.

The Interaction Gate must not be relied upon to protect secrets, personal data, restricted materials, or security-sensitive functionality.

9. Third-party AI systems and services

AIVOW Lite does not create, operate, control, endorse, or independently verify third-party AI systems or service providers documented through the plugin.

Third-party AI systems may produce inaccurate, incomplete, biased, unsafe, or unexpected results. Their functionality, terms, privacy practices, security, availability, and legal status are controlled by their respective providers.

Website administrators are responsible for evaluating the systems and providers they use.

10. No regulatory affiliation

AIVOW – AI Disclosure Manager is an independent WordPress product.

It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, approved by, or acting on behalf of the European Union, the European Commission, an AI regulatory authority, WordPress.org, WooCommerce, or any certification body, unless expressly stated otherwise.

Third-party names and trademarks belong to their respective owners.

11. Changes and current information

Laws, regulatory guidance, technology, third-party services, and plugin functionality may change.

Documentation and examples may become outdated. You are responsible for reviewing current official sources and obtaining appropriate professional advice before relying on information for legal or compliance decisions.

Use of the website and software is also subject to the Terms of Use.
