Understanding Reports and Logs in AIVOW Lite

Review the read-only transparency summary and understand why AIVOW Lite does not collect visitor disclosure events.

When to use this guide

Use this guide when you need to review the current transparency configuration summarized by AIVOW Lite, understand which information appears in Reports, or confirm why disclosure logs and downloadable report exports are unavailable.

Review the AIVOW Lite Reports summary

1. Open AIVOW → AIVOW Dashboard → Reports.
2. Review the date and time shown for the current summary.
3. Review the total and Active AI system counts.
4. Review the readiness progress summary and related readiness information.
5. Review the AI Literacy summary when it is enabled in General settings.
6. Confirm the status of the public transparency page.
7. Review the global banner status.
8. Review the current badge placement mode.
9. Review the Lightweight AI Metadata status.
10. Review the logs availability status.
11. Review the Article 50 readiness summary.
12. Read the report disclaimer.

The Reports tab is read-only in AIVOW Lite. It summarizes currently saved plugin records and settings but does not create a downloadable report file.

Understand what the Reports summary includes

The AIVOW Lite summary can include:

• the summary generation date and time;
• total and Active AI system counts;
• readiness progress summary;
• an optional AI Literacy summary;
• public transparency page status and link;
• global banner status;
• badge placement mode;
• metadata output status;
• logs availability status;
• Article 50 readiness summary;
• a product and legal disclaimer.

The readiness progress summary reflects recorded checklist answers and completion progress. It is an operational workflow indicator, not a legal compliance score.

The summary reflects information documented by the administrator. AIVOW Lite does not independently verify that the stored information is complete, accurate, or legally sufficient.

Control the AI Literacy summary

Open AIVOW → AIVOW Settings → General to control whether AI Literacy information appears in Reports.

The Include AI Literacy summary in report summaries and exports setting affects the read-only AIVOW Lite Reports summary.

When the setting is disabled, the Reports tab indicates that the AI Literacy summary is excluded by settings. Disabling the summary does not delete the stored Wizard answers.

Understand the Logs tab

Open AIVOW → AIVOW Dashboard → Logs.

In AIVOW Lite, the Logs tab explains that advanced disclosure logging is not included.

AIVOW Lite does not collect or store visitor events for:

• global banner views or acknowledgements;
• interaction gate views or acknowledgements;
• disclosure notice activity;
• badge views;
• transparency page views.

Browser acknowledgement state used by the global banner or interaction gate is not a disclosure log. It remains in the visitor’s browser, as described in the Privacy and Data Storage in AIVOW Lite guide.

Advanced aggregated non-personal disclosure logs are planned for the AIVOW Pro add-on but are not available in AIVOW Lite. AIVOW Pro is not yet available, and the roadmap may change before release.

Reports and logs boundary

AIVOW Lite does not provide:

• downloadable HTML reports;
• downloadable TXT reports;
• PDF report generation;
• historical report snapshots;
• visitor disclosure event logs;
• notice version history;
• aggregated page or event counts;
• log retention controls;
• log deletion controls;
• client-ready or white-label reports.

The read-only Reports summary should not be treated as an audit record, legal opinion, compliance certificate, or proof that a notice was shown to a particular visitor.

AIVOW Lite does not store IP addresses, full user-agent strings, visitor names or email addresses, prompts, chat messages, AI responses, or uploaded visitor files. Advanced logging and its exact data-handling and retention behavior will be documented before the AIVOW Pro release.

Common mistakes

• Expecting the Reports tab to provide a downloadable file.
• Treating the read-only summary as a historical snapshot.
• Treating the readiness information as a legal compliance score.
• Assuming that AIVOW Lite records banner or interaction gate acknowledgements.
• Confusing browser acknowledgement storage with server-side disclosure logs.
• Expecting the Logs tab to populate after enabling a banner, badge, disclosure shortcode, or interaction gate.
• Assuming that the Reports summary independently verifies administrator-provided information.
• Expecting the AI Literacy summary to appear when it is excluded under General settings.
• Treating the report disclaimer or summary as legal certification.
• Looking for log retention or deletion controls that are not available in AIVOW Lite.

Troubleshooting

• Confirm that you opened AIVOW → AIVOW Dashboard → Reports rather than the Logs tab.
• Reload the Reports tab after saving AI systems, Wizard answers, or plugin settings.
• Confirm that the relevant AI system, banner, badge, metadata, or transparency page configuration has been saved.
• Review AIVOW → AIVOW Settings → General if the AI Literacy summary is missing.
• Confirm that the transparency page is Published if the summary reports that no public page is available.
• Review the Article 50 Readiness tab if readiness information appears incomplete.
• Remember that AIVOW Lite does not generate HTML, TXT, or PDF download controls.
• Remember that the empty or unavailable Logs state is expected in an AIVOW Lite-only installation.
• Do not expect browser banner or interaction gate acknowledgements to appear in the Logs tab.
• Do not expect advanced logging controls in AIVOW Lite. AIVOW Pro is not yet available.
• Reload the Reports page if recently saved information is not reflected in the summary. If the information remains outdated, clear any active object, admin, or optimization cache.
